Common asthma attack warning signs that may require you to take your quick-relief medicine:
- Faster breathing
- Wheezing
- Increased coughing
- Chest tightness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Drop in peak flow reading
Common asthma attack danger signs that may require you to get medical help immediately:
- Difficulty speaking
- Lips or fingernails turn gray or blue
- Heart rate is very fast
- Quick-relief (rescue) medicine fails to help
- Peak flow reading is in the red zone
